Manchester Area Cross Country League
The Manchester Area XC League was launched in 2006 amalgamating the Cheshire League (which we used to compete in), NW Womens League and the Manchester & District Cross Country League. Consequently it is now a large cross country league with a very broad range of abilities and ages from 9 to maybe 90!
Any club member (including parents) can run in one or more of these events. There are 3 races for the under 11's and 5 races for all other age groups. A Final Position in the league is given for all U11 athletes who complete 3 races and all other age groups who complete 4 or more races.
The age catagories and typical distances are:
FU11 2200m; FU13 2400m; FU15 3000m; FU17 4500m; FU20 6000m; Senior & Vet Ladies 8000m
MU11 2400m; MU13 3000m; MU15 4500m; MU17 6000m; MU20 9600m; Senior & Vet Men 9600m

Cheshire Cross Country County Championships
The Cheshire Cross Country County Championships are held every year in early January. Every County in England holds a XC County Championship on the same day. The age categories and distances are similar to the MACCL. The top athletes in each age group are then selected to represent their County at National Level. We have records from the year 2000.
